Entries will be judged on the basis of their potential added value for users, manufacturers and/or the environment. We define innovations as comprising a challenge, an idea and its implementation.
We would like to underline that we are not only looking for innovative products for but also for holistic approaches to the entire world of raw materials handling. This spans the development of principles, product development and cost-efficient manufacturing as well as the integration of new technologies or methods, including how they can be marketed.
The innovations will also be assessed according to their appeal/reach and their patentability. The German Patent and Trade Mark Office defines an invention as new if it goes beyond the current state of the art. The state of the art (or prior art) includes any material that was available anywhere in the world in any form before the invention in question was registered. This can include written and verbal descriptions and deployment or presentation of the invention. Written descriptions include books, journals and patents. Verbal descriptions include presentations at conferences.
Please be aware that materials that you have published yourself are also considered prior art. For this reason, please keep your inventions secret until you are ready to submit them.
If your solution is patentable, we will be happy to provide any assistance you may require with the filing process.
