GRAVICOLOR doses and mixes up to six materials precisely and with maximum recipe accuracy. These modular gravimetric units are designed for injection, blow moulding and extrusion and provide throughputs up to 2200 kg/h.

Recipe integrity gives you an excellent and consistent product quality. Any fluctuations in the amount dosed are automatically corrected by immediately adjusting the batch weight.
The proportion of masterbatch dosed is automatically adjusted depending on the amount of regrind available. The weighing accuracy is not affected from vibrations caused by the processing machine, as these are filtered out by a special algorithm.

By integrating conveying into the GRAVInet control you save money as no separate conveying system control is needed.
It can control up to seven material loaders with a blower station and stand-by blower; i.e. material handling for a six component mixing station and a processing machine.
For the installation of complex systems, you can network multiple GRAVICOLOR units with each other or with other motan controls of the CONTROLnet family. This guarantees a high degree of flexibility. A central WEBpanel provides an overview of the entire production.

Fast material changes require you to have easy access to all parts in contact with the material to ensure efficient cleaning.
Hinged lids and large, removable sight glasses or supply hoppers enable you to completely and thoroughly clean the hoppers.
The large front door, the removable weigh bin, and the easily accessible mixing chamber simplify cleaning and you don’t need any tools.

The supply hoppers are of modular design are constructed from stainless steel and have fully welded seams.
This guarantees you contamination-free operation and easy clean down due to the high quality surface finish.

The micro dosing option with the GRAVICOLOR 30 MD gives you an innovative and highly accurate micro dosing unit.
The masterbatch or additive is dosed into the weigh bin using a vertically aligned feed-screw.
This hinders material slip even when mounted on a fast cycling injection moulding machine, so over dosing of expensive additives is eliminated and you save money.

Except for the additive micro dosing on the GRAVICOLOR 30 MD, all component materials are dosed by the unique motan cone dosing system. This dosing system ensures that a high total material throughput can be achieved, even when metering a large number of additives.
Superior to the conventional slide-gates, cone dosing opens centrally and allows for symmetrical material flow. Any potential material bridges are destroyed through the vertical movement of the cone.
So a clean material flow is always guaranteed, even for difficult flowing regrind materials such as flakes. The cone dosing time is significantly shorter than with conventional slide-gates, which means you get greater accuracy in the lower dosing ranges.

The weigh bin can quickly and easily be removed without the need for tools and can be cleaned away from the unit.

The mixing chamber with an offset material discharge prevents dead zones and provides a completely homogeneous mix.

You can easily install a GRAVICOLOR on to the throat of a processing machine. Any vibrations or oscillations that occur are compensated for by the GRAVInet control.
Material segregation is prevented because of the short distance material travels from the GRAVICOLOR mixing chamber to the machine throat.
Of course, the dosing and mixing station can also be placed next to the machine or operate as a central station feeding multiple processing machines.

Seven different unit sizes are available for a large range of material throughputs.
If your requirements change and a station becomes “too small”, it does not need to be replaced straight away. It can be easily adapted to accommodate the higher throughputs without a loss in accuracy by using the special software (mixed mode) integrated in the GRAVInet control.
